1. Know what “looks” you’re going for. Have a general plan;
Most actors need at least one “Business” shot and a couple of “Casual” shots. There are some agents that have specific shots they would like of you (i.e. skater, surfer, punk, jogger, club goer, nurse, doctor, ect…) If you would like, I will be happy to talk with your agent. Your agent might also ask for things like ¾, conservative, sexy, full body, horizontal, or vertical only. It’s always a good idea to talk to your agent before a shoot. If you don’t have an agent, I understand, we’ll figure it out J. But everyone at least needs that great casual shot that really is just “you”.
2. Pick out your clothes.
Bring lots of clothes. If your agent wants you to get different “looks”, we can usually get through at least two per hour.
3. Get plenty of sleep. Drink lots of water. Avoid alcohol and partying for four days before the shoot (longer if you can, and I would say two days at the absolute bare minimum, it really shows in the eyes).
4. Bring your favorite music if you feel like it.
5. Bring your current headshot and any headshots that you like or dislike.
6. This is your Photo shoot. Please, please, please speak up if you’re not happy or not sure about something.
7. If you're having your make-up done, you should show up with a clean, moisturized face and your hair "camera ready". We can make slight alterations to it throughout the session.
9. Payment is due in full the day of the shoot. I accept cash or check.
10. A separate fee is required for the Make-Up artist. The make-up artist is hired by you. I have excellent make-up artist that I can refer you to that I like to work with. I can also get quotes from those make-up artists for you and make the arrangements for them to show up. However, you are still employing them as a separate service from the Photo session.
Show up ready to Have Fun!
After The Shoot:
Within a day I will provide you with an online link to view your photo session. From there you can either order prints through me, or I can provide you with the files to take to the retoucher/printer of your choice.
I use Gianna Costa for retouching. We have package deals available.
A quality photo lab can also do enlargements and reproductions for you. I’ve used and been happy with Isgo, Producers & Quantity, and Reproductions.
And if you have any questions…please feel free to ask or Email Chris
